CIAP Fair Trade Artisans, Lima, Peru

The CIAP Fair Trade co-operative is a group of predominantly women artisans. The office I visited is located in the suburbs of Lima, Peru. It is composed of 18 associations, some located in Lima, some in Puno (Lake Titicaca), totalling around 300 members. CIAP provides education, access to loans and other forms of support. Artisans work individually, creating jewellery and clothing and are guaranteed a minimum income every month.
